Artists & Styles

This is a magnificently illustrated retrospective of one of the 20th century's most important and influential artists. It features dedicated mailing and e-mail campaign to targeted art related media & organisations. From his birth in 1904 until his death in 1989 at the age of 85, Salvador Dali's life spanned almost a century of dramatic social and artistic change. "Salvador Dali: Liquid Desire" is a stunningly illustrated and comprehensive retrospective of Dali's work - in a wide variety of media, including painting, drawing, jewellery, sculpture, fashion, cinema, and photography - that traces the evolution of his artistic genius from his earliest years as a 14 year-old Impressionist painter, to his final paintings, created by the artist when he was in his seventies, that address elements of science and physics. The exhibition, held at the National Gallery of Victoria between June and October 2009, is drawn from the two largest Dali collections in the world - the Fundacio Gala-Salvador Dali in Figures, Spain; and the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg, Florida.
