In 2014 artist Jane Kim created a 70 x 40-foot mural at the esteemed Cornell Lab of ornithology called "From So Simple a Beginning: Celebrating the Evolution and Diversity of Birds" (also known as "The Wall of Birds"). It features paintings of all 270 bird species placed on the region they inhabit, and took 2 ½ years to complete. It depicts the 375 million year evolution of birds, all painted to scale.
