Author description

James Fenton was born in Lincoln in 1949. He has worked as a political journalist, drama critic, book reviewer, columnist and foreign correspondent. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and was Oxford Professor of Poetry for the period 1994-9. His Selected Poems was published in 2006.
