The Blood Forest

Author(s): Kevin McGrath

Crime/Thriller

Errol Davis is both cunning and vicious. When he walks, he crouches like a wild dog. He is also supremely patient, prepared to wait long hours to prey upon the young women he encounters hitchhiking, bushwalking and camping. Davis lives in wild mountain country and knows its gorges, chasms and hidden valleys intimately. What better place to hide the bodies of his victims? They might lie forever undiscovered. Donna Trattner is an executive producer for a Sydney Production company named EPSILON. She has a strong reputation as producer of crime programs. Not surprisingly, she takes an interest in the rumours of a serial killer at large in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. So intense is her interest, she determines to track the murderer down. In a frightening encounter she meets Errol Davis face to face. About the Author Kevin McGrath is Sydney born. In the early part of his life he became intensely interested in sports - rugby, football and athletics. He won Eastern Suburbs Junior 880 Yards Championship in his first year out of school. At this time there was never a thought of becoming a writer.
He took an Arts degree at Sydney University then taught English and History in several secondary schools. There was still no thought of a writing career. Only after he found a job as a television producer at the Australian Broadcating Commission did he began to write, in a very modest way, scripts for educational and documentary programs. His first original play, Little Topar, won the Cairns Centenary Drama Prize and was later produced on ABC television. A play for radio The Defeat won an "AWGIE" award. Several stage plays followed. John Grant's Journey at Sydney's New Theatre and Wentworthville at the Stables and at La Mama in Melbourne. Kevin has published short fiction in little magazines in Australia as well as in London and Dublin. The Blood Forest is his first novel. Interests and life I have lived and worked pretty well all over. My job at the ABC took me to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Hobart though my best work was done in Sydney.
