Christian Furr is the youngest artist to have officially painted Queen Elizabeth II when, at the age of 28, he was chosen by the Queen from a shortlist of artists. His most recent official portraits include Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Conner. Christian was one of the judges on ITV's A Brush with Fame and he is the 'Celebrity Art Club' resident artist on Channel 4's Richard and Judy show. It was on this show that he held the celebrity portrait master class and also previewed the recent Whistler/ Turner/ Monet show at the Tate Gallery. Channel 4 also commissioned him to paint Johnny Vaughan and Liza Tarbuck for Millenium Night's The Biggest Breakfast Ever. In June 2004, Christian collected an Association of Colleges Gold Award at the House of Commons - given to further education alumni who have gone on to achieve excellence in their chosen field.
