My love of Australian wildflowers, and encouragement from my family, friends, and members of the embroiderers Guild of South Australia was the inspiration needed for this book. We have some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the world in Australian, and my aim is to encourage our many thousands of embroiderers to use them in their designs for embroideries. This book has a selection of chartered designs adapted from my paintings of South Australian wildflowers. My original designs are worked on Lugana linen in tent stitch over one thread, using two strands of D.M.C. cotton. This results in finely detailed embroidery, very close to the actual size of the plant. The designs will adapt with all types of linen and with wool on canvas. Jan Woodman Illustrated
