Pierre-Henri Verlhac became an author and publisher after a career on both sides of the Atlantic as a media banker. Co-creator of the Life in Pictures series--and author of volumes on Paul Newman, Pope John Paul II, Grace Kelly, and the Kennedys--he is also a classical music photographer. He lives in Paris. Peter Bogdanovich is the author of numerous books about Hollywood and the movies, including volumes about Orson Wells, Howard Hawked and John Ford. Bogdanovich has directed such plays as The Big Knife, Camino Real and Once in a Lifetime. His films include Targets, The Last Picture Show, What's Up Doc?, Paper Moon and They All Laughed. His essays and reviews have appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Esquire and the New York Observer.
