Author(s): Janet A. Holmes
Sometimes we want a thing so much we can't prevent ourselves from taking it. But when a girl steals her friend's beautiful yellow kite, she is swamped with turmoil. A story about desire, guilt and forgiveness.
Author Janet was born and grew up in Perth Western Australia. After completing an arts degree at the University of Western Australia, she had various jobs as a research assistant and then went back to study to do a Diploma of Education at Murdoch University. Janet worked as a teacher librarian in a primary school for a couple of years before moving with her young family to Canberra. She became an education officer in the Parliament of Australia but after a couple of years moved into the committee office of the Senate. He has illustrated several books for Little Hare including Holmes' debut Duck, and the best-selling Where is Bear, which he wrote as well as illustrated. Jonathan likes to work with a range of materials including acrylics, oils, and line and watercolour, and he looks forward to the day when he has a big barn-like studio somewhere in the countryside.
