Richard Taylor is a professional archivist and museum curator. Coming from a railway family in York, he set up the London Transport Archive (now TfL Corporate Archives) in the early 1990s. After this he became Head of Archives for Railtrack PLC and subsequently a Senior Curator at the National Railway Museum. Recently he has returned to the London Transport Museum as Curator for "Johnston Journeys", the museum's project to mark the centenary of Johnston's Underground typeface.London Transport Museum explores the story of London and its transport system over the last 200 years, highlighting the powerful link between transport and the growth of modern London, culture and society since 1800. As well as exploring the past, the Museum looks at present-day transport developments and concepts for urban transportation in the future.
